Humans and their culture

As social beings who gathered and settled course of human conduct toward his neighbor interactions. And besides interacting with others of course, man also entered the interaction of natural environments where he lived. In the interaction was performed continuously it can even lead to something / habits of society in recurrent and habitual or lowered to the next community, this is often known as Culture.

If we observe the entire group of human beings on this earth, surely we can get various shades of different culture. Even when narrowed to just watch our country Indonesia, of course, we can see lots of differences in culture in every area from Sabang to Merauke (west to east region of Indonesia).

If we examine this cultural difference of course is very fair, because the differences are owned by natural factors, the man himself and many other factors that cause these different cultural patterns.

In the development of a culture is not static (fixed) but rather is dynamic. This is caused by various human groups that have specific needs interact with each group with other groups, of course, through human interaction that cultural change and influence by other cultures.

His example we can note the Indonesian culture in the 19th century with a look at the Indonesian culture in the 20th century (now) certainly can see the difference. Even a change of culture which is owned by a very dynamic, especially in developed urban areas such as Jakarta, whose culture was heavily influenced by western culture.

But the irony occurred in Indonesian society where the cultural changes that occurred in this country is too large, even impressed too absorbing foreign culture, ignoring the existing culture.It can be seen from the way we communicate, how to dress, and a very different mindset.

Obviously this is a bit troubling because many foreign cultures are absorbed without consideration first. In fact, many experts argue that culture can be absorbed with a palpable negative impact on the surrounding environment. Therefore, at this time, we must multiply the efforts to preserve our culture, because culture of Indonesia is very precious and must be preserved.

Totto~chan

Development of technology makes the job easier. But this development is not balanced with the right attitude. So, many of the values of life are forgotten. This is why sometimes people like to be controlled by the technology itself.
There is a book which might makes us aware of life values that suitable for the younger. I will discuss a book with the title "Totto-chan".
Why did I choose these book?
Because this book tells us about the life of a little girl.And from her life,we can take many values of life.
This book tells of a little girl named Totto-chan who was curious about everything around her. But because her curiosity, it made the teacher mad and she expelled from her school.Then she moved to a new school named "Tomoe Gakuen.". One reason why she was expelled from her school was when the lesson was in progress, she walked over to the window and shouted, and asked to the bird who was making a nest.She said, "What are you doing?" and of course there was no answer from the bird. The teacher thaught that her action was annoyed the class.
And then,she moved to a new school.At this school,she found every thing run in different way which she didn’t find in any other school in general. She was educated at a train which was unused anymore.This school is different from other schools because the students were free to choose what lessons they wanted to learn that day. Some of them took drawing, studied physics and others in the same time.
One day, the teacher asked them, “what would you do next?”
And one of them answered, “We want to go for a walk”.
Later,their teacher were invited to go for a walk. They went to the temple. And on the way,they found a plant that has a blower in it. And the teacher explained how a plant can be up to flowering. So without knowing, the first-grade students of primary school have been studying history, science, and many things at once.
From the flash of the above story, we can take one value. Education today is too focused on lessons. In particular a class of elementary school, they learn the material only in class. In fact in this period, children are still learning as you play. No wonder if some kids are bored.
If teaching method used as Totto-chan in the story, students can develop their curiosity. So their thinking can be more active and Wilder.
Since learning of the environment, children become aware of any matters that may damage the surrounding environment and how to keep it from damaged. In addition, because they learn from historic objects,the government will also pay more attention to these objects. Because, over the years, many historic objects are missing.
